I just bought dell g15 and experience the same with dell support assist. Dell g5 5587 user here. Worked on dell 7480 laptop. Reduced turbo to 35 multiplier for all 4 cores. I can confirm that this works. I am on win 11. Dell said i need new motherboard as the password they gave didn't have the correct instructions of press ctrl +enter. Some systems have more granular fan control while the ec is in charge, but you cannot change the behavior other than picking a thermal profile in dell power manager. Maybe i will just not use that dell support assist as it also crashed my laptop i used dell update software.
